Photosynth versions of British building

Photosynth is a stunning bit of Microsoft technology that takes lots of photos, all of which were shots around the same location, and merges and overlaps them, creating a virtual 3D version of the place. You can jump in and out, from photo to photo, and the application transitions beautifully from one to another.

It’s a plugin (for Firefox as well as IE) which is a little annoying, but well worth it.

The team have collaborated with the BBC on their new series “How we built Britain” to provide Photosynth versions of 6 of the locations featured in the program. Very nice.
